SHORT BIO:
Mariam, or Mari for short, was born and raised in London in the UK by her mother and father. Ten years of fighting later, her parents finally split after her mother had an affair with the man she is now married to. Mari stayed with her dad, David, an American-born banker and continued living in the UK for seven more years with him. Recently her father decided to move back to America to care for his elderly mother after his father passed away in January 2012 and Mari followed, her giant luggage bags mainly filled with makeup in tow. She now lives with her father and grandmother in Lockwood in a spacious house- a far cry from the skyrise that she used to live in.
Mari dropped out of high school in London at the age of sixteen and began her beautician career by setting up her own youtube video channel for makeup tutorials and "hauls". She spends a lot of time on her phone and laptop updating her channel and keeping in touch with her fans through facebook and twitter although it doesn't take over her life. While still in the UK she managed to have a skype interview for boutique spa in Lockhart and got the job so she is excited to begin and progress with her aspiration of making a name for herself in the beauty industry.
Outside of work Mari spends most of her time on her image and having a good time. She shops, parties and loves to have girly meet-ups and weekends. She's a bit of a pampered princess as her dad spoils her (some would say rotten...) - for instance, as Mari said to her dad she might be lonely in a new town, he bought her a puppy Chihuahua, Eric. Mari dotes on Eric and takes him everywhere that she can- not as a toy dog (as many would think) but as a genuine companion and pet that she loves.
In general, Mari is perceived as an airhead, but she does have quite sharp wits when it comes to getting ahead. Mari makes friends quickly and likes to 'network' with people to make a web of useful contacts for every situation, however, she finds it difficult to have meaningful relationships as she is quite judgmental and, in many respects, quite shallow. She hopes that in time she can have some great close friends and that her young, fun and flirty attitude doesn't make her too many enemies.
