(hazel a. may)FROZEN IN THE HEADLIGHTS: IT SEEMS I'VE MADE THE FINAL SACRIFICE• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •Meet little miss Hazel May. She's 22, just graduated from the community college and is an oncology nurse. She's the oldest of five, and as their mom ran out on them 11 years ago and they have a father with good intentions but you know, the path to hell is paved with those, Hazel has had to raise her brothers and sisters. And not like, "basically" raise them. She has raised them, been there for every major moment to making sure they had clean clothes and breakfast before school every morning. While one of her brothers is in college, her three youngest siblings are still in high school so she lives at home to mother them. That's defined a lot of who she is. She's caring and loving, fiercely protective. Strong, confident, and good at keeping secrets. She can be a bit more reserved, she feels like she must be the rock of the family because she always has been. She loves her siblings, but sadly because of them she was never a child, and has a mean grudge and burning anger towards her parents. She is wildly mature though, way beyond her twenty two years. And when she is not at the hospital or at home? She keeps to herself, treasuring the time she has for herself by gardening or reading, and sometimes playing the piano, though no one knows about that secret hobby. friends: As her brothers and sisters were her entire life, literally, Hazel never had much to,e fro friends. I imagine she has one extremely close friend (which I may put up a request for) who she shares her burdens with and knows the full extent of what she does, her emotional crutch, and other then that not a whole lot. Some study buddies from college maybe, or some other hospital workers, but she's never had time to make or keep friends, let alone acquaintances. She is a terribly nice and loving person, and is actually pretty lonely but she always puts her family first and her work second. enemies: Anyone who has ever threatened or hurt anyone of her brothers or sisters, or people who have tried to get in Hazel's business. Basically anyone who has ever tried to tell her how to take care of her family would be on her shit list. If Hazel loves you, she will do anything for you no matter how you wrong her but once you cross her there is no going back. No second chances, no nothing. She holds grudges like it's her job. And bottles up all her anger until she one day explodes, and you do not want to be in her path when that happens. lovers: Hazel has a final in the works, and she never really had time for dates but I imagine she had at least one or two steady things in her past, as she has lived in Lockhart her whole life. Nothing she ever took too seriously but maybe he did, or maybe it was casual for him too. Hazel isn't one for one night stands or things of that nature but maybe one or two slipped in at one point or another. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •© A REGULAR ST. MARY

SKYLAR & HAZEL
These two are just about the same age, and they are both locals, so chances are they've seen each other around? I'm thinking friends? Maybe not close but you know, friends still.

joey&&hazel Squee! I'm so going to fan girl over these two, because Rupert and Emma are end game. I'm so in love with them! I saw your ideas in the other thread, loved them. I'm a big believer in drama, because what fun is it if they're all hunky dory? I like pain and heart break and all the emotions. I don't have anything super concrete I guess....I imagine at first Hazel is extremely resistant to start anything, though obviously very attracted to Joey, because she's a new nurse and patients are supposed to be off limits. He'll definitely have to work to win her over. And I keep imagining a scene where they're in a fight because Hazel blows Joey off or something like that to care for her little sister one too many times and when he confronts her there is a huge fight. And as for her moving in with Joey...she'd probably say no, but just because she wants them to move in for the right reasons (i.e. love) not because his family wants a nurse around. And she wants to be a good example for her siblings. Although she'd be more than willing to hang around and help him out a lot. I also had more at about 4 am when I was trying to sleep, so of course now I can't think of any of them. skylar&&hazel Friends works perfectly! I was thinking maybe the McKenzie's were family friends/friends with Hazel mom, so Skylar and Hazel saw a lot of each other when they were really little and we're extremely close but grew apart after Hazel's mom left? They just didn't see each other as much and grew apart? And now they're decent friends? I don't know, I feel like I'm rambling a bit.....

SKYLAR & HAZEL
That's a wonderful idea! I like it. (: Skylar has a really close knit family so they probably would have tried to help out with Hazel and her family but then they would have eventually grown apart because they didn't exactly have the money to support both families. But yeah, I love that idea! We should get a thread going (:

~Joey&Hazel
- Sounds good. We can def. play these two by ear. He isn't very forceful to where he'd keep begging her to go out with him. But, he might try to guilt trip her a few times into going out with him as "friends" and use his health to his advantage. Though he'd of course then try to throw a joke in there to make it seem less serious then it actually is, of the sorts. I could see him totally writing her sweet letters or poems, in an attempt to win her over as well because he's a writer of the sorts.
-- Anyways. As far as them meeting for the first time what were you thinking? I know it would be in the hospital but should it be before he is diagnosed with the full reality of having cancer or should she be put on his case after he finds out he has cancer? Because I either see a thread where she has to be in the room telling him he has cancer. Or a thread where he is sent to her and his new Doctor for the first time after receiving his news. I mean in all "reality" he probably has been through a lot of Doctor's and Nurses at this point before being diagnosed with cancer. Because usually their is specialists for each area of "health issues" I doubt he'd go straight to a cancerous Doctor till after he finds out what he has... if that makes any sense. I'm rambling. Sorry im so tired!

joey&&hazel Hazel is specifically an oncology nurse so I imagined they met after he had already been confronted and sort of come to terms with the fact he has cancer. Maybe not come to terms but at least has lived with the news for awhile. And as far as his cancer, how serious is it? Like, what stage? And is he actually in, in the hospital or is he always coming in for treatments and tests and stuff? Chemo? Yeah....sorry, a lot of questions I know, I just am trying to get a better understanding of his situation.

Joey&Hazel -- He will never actually be in the hospital full on. It's going to be more just coming in for treatments wise. I imagine he'll get really sick in about the third or forth month of chemo and be stuck in the hospital for a week or so. But, he would be in stage one. That would eventually reach Stage 2. However, he will recover before it ever reaches Stage 3. So i'm not going to let it get that serious. It's serious but not enough to where they're going to be telling him "You're going to die in six months." I think the most scary thing that might lead anyone thinking he is going to die is like I mentioned he gets really sick during his third month of treatment and is rushed to the hospital. Did that make sense? Or, did I confuse you?
